Summary

RS JR. Aligns at QB for ALUN. Marginal size; Below average Ht & Wt. One year starter at ALUN. Exceptional production in 2020 with 41/4 TD/INT ratio, 77.4% completion percentage, undefeated record, and a National Championship. Potential quality starting QB. Pocket passer with excellent accuracy, quality decision making, sufficient arm strength, and rare touch but lacks the desired run ability for today’s QB. Balanced and paced in his drop. Clean, short release. Always on balance. Benefited from an abundance of weapons but executed the offense at an extremely high level. As a passer, he is really good. Enough arm strength to make every NFL throw. Accurate at all levels. Naturally accurate in the short area. Doesn’t aim the football. Exceptional intermediate accuracy. Consistently great ball placement. Throws the back shoulder with ease. Very good placement in the deep area. Knows how to decrease velocity to throw a more catchable ball. Layers the football really well in the intermediate. Smart in his decision making. Quick to process and get the ball out. Presnap processing allows him to trigger quickly on mismatch opportunities. Manipulates coverage with his shoulders and eyes. Sells the pump fake on double moves very well. Feels pressure and can maneuver the pocket sufficiently with good footwork while keeping eyes downfield. Lack of quality mobility does mean he struggles some escaping in the face of pressure. It also increases the number of batted balls at the LOS. Does, however, identify and feel pressure well allowing him to speed up and get the ball out to his hots. Poise is really good. Did benefit from exceptional OL play. Doesn’t panic in the face of pressure but rather, just speeds up his mechanics to get the ball out. As a runner, he is limited. Has enough speed and athleticism to pick up the occasional first. Won’t make you miss in space or run through contact. Running is just not an effective part of his game. Overall, he is a bit of throwback prospect who lacks ideal physical tools but displays exceptional position specifics. Despite a lack of game experience, he is ready to play immediately due to excellent accuracy, mental processing, and decision making. Lacks ideal escape ability and athleticism but compensates with quick decisions. He’s a really good football player.

One Liner

Smart, poised, and highly accurate QB who makes quality decisions and displays rare touch + ball placement but lacks ideal AA.
